Nominator's project description
| Professor Coe has contributed significantly to our knowledge of magnetic field behavior. He has developed more accurate ways to measure the Earth's ancient field intensity and has found evidence suggesting episodes of extremely rapid field change may occur during polarity reversals. His recent work bridges the gap between computer simulations and field observations of magnetic reversals. In Germany, Professor Coe will focus on geomagnetic field behaviour during the Cretaceous Normal Superchron. |
